Three founders, one shared idea
The three of us are behind heyshary. We founded it together.
How heyshary started
It all started with an argument. I wanted to take some to-dos off my wife Franziska's plate. Her answer: "My mental load doesn't disappear just because you take on more tasks."
It quickly became clear to me that we wouldn't solve this by me promising to remember things better. I needed a tool. So I built an app.
At first it was just for us. Over time it grew into more. We gave it to friends to test, more and more ideas came back, and we saw that other families could need this too. Since then we've been collecting ideas and building them in.
Then there's Franziska's work as a coach. She supports mothers returning to work. In those conversations it came up again and again how important a fair split of the mental load is for a good return to work.
Why it became more than a tool for us
Talking to other families, we noticed how much hangs on this one thing. Not because people couldn't do it, but because in everyday life with kids nobody has the calm to say everything out loud and keep track of it. And if no one writes it down, it stays in one person's head. Almost always the same one.
So we built the thing that takes over this coordination. heyshary holds what's coming up, who's taking it on and what's still open. Both see the same state at any time, without having to ask. I build it, my wife tells me where it still doesn't fit everyday life. That split works pretty well.
And then Moritz joined
An app that only runs for us and a few friends doesn't take anything off anyone else's plate. Moritz makes sure heyshary reaches the families who need it: he looks after reach and community, talks to parents and brings their wishes and experiences back to us.
That's why he isn't "the marketing guy" but a co-founder, just like Franziska and me. The idea came from Franziska, I build, Moritz takes heyshary out into the world. Only the three of us together turned it into something that takes the load off more families than just ours.
We listen, and we mean it
A big part of heyshary doesn't come from my head. The ideas come from my wife, from families we're friends with, and from parents who write to us about what they're still missing in everyday life. We have a large circle that thinks along and honestly says what could work better.
That stays. If you write to us and it turns out a suggestion really takes a load off, we build it. Not eventually, but as fast as we can.
What matters to us
heyshary shouldn't lecture or grade anyone. There are no points, no streaks, and no app telling you that you've missed something. It's about both of you knowing what's coming up, and about the work landing where it belongs.
Children's health data isn't ours. It sits encrypted on our server in Austria, is never sold and never used for ads. No accounts, no profiles, no tracking.
